Box Gutters

Improve Drainage With Box Gutters

As homeowners increasingly opt for larger, more complex extensions, the need for well-planned drainage solutions has become essential for trade professionals. Box gutters are a key component for managing water on larger structures. Installed between the conservatory roof and the existing property, box gutters are engineered to channel water efficiently, prevent pooling, and ensure reliable roofline drainage for long-lasting performance.

Types of Box Gutters

Chambered Box Gutter

The chambered box gutter enables spanning capability up to 4380mm, without the need for gallows brackets. At 165mm wide, they are compatible with both the standard eaves beam and the super duty eaves beam. Furthermore, it’s compatible with all current 165mm adaptors.

Keep in mind, when used with standard eaves, a 30mm window frame add on is required to pack the eaves. A blanking plate endcap is available to close off the chambered end of the box gutter.

Reinforced Box Gutter

The Reinforced Box Gutter features a factory-fitted I beam that reinforces the gutter, allowing spans of up to 5.8m (internal frame) without the need for gallows brackets. It can be easily attached to host walls or used against bungalow fasciae.

Compatible with both the Standard Eaves Beam and Super Duty Eaves, the system must be supported at both ends with either hup! or brick and block walls, or abutment columns. PVC adaptors ensure a seamless, watertight joint between the box gutter and PVC gutter, saving both time and money on site while improving overall productivity.

Support Specification

When installing box gutters, it’s vital to ensure that you provide adequate support beyond timber piers. Before installing, consider brick piers, gallows, brackets, and other hangers.

Furthermore, they must be supported at no more than 2.25m centres. Box gutters are sleeved and bolted at joints. Read through our downloads for more information.

Compatible Roof System

Box gutters are typically installed with the Ultraroof or the Livinroof. Both of our solid roof systems are perfect for conservatories, orangeries and extensions.

The Ultraroof is our tiled roofing system, and the Livinroof is our solid roof. These systems are set up to last with box gutters.

Watertight Jointing

Injection moulded adapters are used to ensure seamless and watertight jointing between the classic uPVC gutter and the aluminium box gutter.

You’ll be able to find each adapter comes with its own dry jointing gasket and a measured ‘shot’ of Gutterbond sealant to help you with a quick fit.
